Pole position...

We wanted to cut up the leg to Yellowstone into two legs, since it was already late in the day from the near 200 miles we had already traveled going from Crazy to Rushmore to Devils so we decided to aim for Sheridan, WY. This would give us a shorter leg the following day and more time at these famed National Parks. On our run, as the sun set it became clear that the roadside safari we've been enjoying so much was still going to be there, only in the shadows and hopefully on the shoulder. We still had a two hour ride to go in country darkness. We stopped for gas and a local woman told us to follow someone though, better a car go first. We quickly agreed and set on looking to heed that advice... And after a bit it on this empty highway I started thinking .. Jer ... We gotta find someone to follow, but there's no one out here. Then I realized that he had found someone to follow, as he was directly behind me! We then began to trade this lead position for the remainder of our trip to Sheridan.

  1. Point Man should always be switched out every few miles, good thinking!
