We ran into a few bikers that keyed us in on some very good day trips in the area, so we planned our day around these rides. One was from Cody WY to Chief Joseph Highway, the other was a continuation of this to Bear Tooth Highway which crosses into Montana. Absolutely Epic. Both are high altitude mountain passes and took us to 11,000 feet. We were rained on, snowed on, and hailed on - marble size. Winds blew at 45 knots in steady sections, and had us riding at a leaned angle for minutes at a time to keep the bikes on the road. We were surrounded in hard pack snow, and loved the thin air regardless of the pelting conditions. We're spending the night in Red Lodge, MT. Tomorrow we head back through the same mountain pass to Yellowstone, a park we've been trying to get into for days but we've been more than satisfied with our distractions.
